Economic
Earthquake? Financial Tsunami? Financial
Armageddon?
The current
global shake up has been called an Economic Earthquake, Financial
Tsunami and a possible Financial Armageddon. Globally influential
minds have indicated their concern including Alan Greenspan the
former Chairman of the US Federal Reserve who stated it may be the
greatest crisis of the century and Warren Buffett, the wealthiest
man in the world, who called it an economic Pearl Harbor. In this
issue we look at What
went wrong? and How you should
respond. Jim Parker looks at how similar the current
turmoil is to the Great Depression
of the
1930's.
As usual
Michael Leunig captures the current sentiment well in this cartoon from The Age.
Others items in
this issue include the commencement of the First Home
Saver Accounts and how you, your children or grand children can benefit,
the Medicare
Surcharge Levy
and how the changes affect you.
We touch on redundancy and include an
encouraging
allegory about a poor man with a beautiful white horse for those
who may have lost their job or are experiencing difficulties and
finally I give my two bobs worth on how to avoid
the Christmas debt hang over
in the lead up to Christmas.
The www.mastermymoney.com.au online financial
